Face Value

I’ve been exhausted and emotional

Feeling thoughtful and melancholic

Wondering what it all meant and why it even matters

Knowing that it really doesn’t

What’s done is done

But I know too much to believe in your words

To take them at face value

Who are you trying to convince

Because I can’t be fooled

So I know it’s not for me

You’ve made it clear

None of it is for me

Not anymore

About samlobos

I am an avid fan of creating narratives in my head about random experiences and quotes for future books I will probably not write. I harbor a 15 year old girl in my psyche and like to solve world issues when I'm half asleep. View all posts by samlobos
