The single tangerine hangs alone

Surrounded by thick, lustrous foliage

Bright orange a stark contrast to dark green

Poor tangerine

Hiding in the dark

Shaded by unfamiliar friends

Will it ever see the sun?

Feel the comfort of the warm rays

Be held by careful hands

Kissed by welcoming lips

Enjoyed by someone intimately

Or will it stay forlorn?

Left to rot

Withered and dry

Never to be touched

Or wanted

By hands willing to pick it

Keep it

Hold it

Cherish it

I am an avid fan of creating narratives in my head about random experiences and quotes for future books I will probably not write. I harbor a 15 year old girl in my psyche and like to solve world issues when I'm half asleep. View all posts by samlobos
